Lauren Flaherty (The Southie Chanteuse) is a Boston
singer/songwriter whose music has been played on over 125 television and
radio stations including MTV, FOX, Bravo and Lifetime. She gigs
frequently from New England to New York and sometimes finds her songs
have turned up in odd places like a lyric dance solo by Kendall on Dance
Moms, an epic UFC fight or a quirky show about macho house cats! She's
a trained vocalist who grew up in Southie, so she can hit the high
notes onstage then shake down anyone who tries to steal her band's share
of the door.
"This Berklee School of Music grad has an intricate yet involving songwriting style that is winning her fans and followers." -BMI.com
"Songbird of Prey"
"The term “singer-songwriter,” usually conjures up thoughts of
gentle acoustic balladeering about love, both unrequited and…
requited. And half the time, that’s exactly what Flaherty dishes
out. The rest of the time she’s punching you with her rough-edged
music fists that are made of sound-noises. And you’re all “This is
actually quite enjoyable, not painful,” and “How do you do that?” And
then you learn she grew up in Southie, and you’re like “Not in the
face not in the face not in the—okay, in the face. The ears,
specifically.”
